Security Door Replacement Project

 

Public Notice

The Vanguard School and Services, located in Malvern, Pennsylvania, is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors for the replacement and installation of security-enhanced exterior doors and associated hardware within campus annex buildings. This project is being undertaken to strengthen campus security, improve access control, and address vulnerabilities identified through a professionally conducted security assessment.

 

Project Overview

The selected contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, insurance, permits, and incidentals necessary to complete the security door replacement project. The project generally includes:

  • Removal and disposal of existing annex exterior doors and related hardware.
  • Supply and installation of fourteen (14) reinforced security exterior doors.
  • Installation of commercial-grade security locking mechanisms.
  • Integration with existing building security and access-control systems.
  • Final inspection and owner acceptance of all work.

This project is funded in whole through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). Contractors shall comply with all applicable grant requirements, procurement standards, reporting requirements, and state and federal laws associated with this grant-funded project. This means that contractors shall comply with all prevailing wage, nondiscrimination, equal employment opportunity, and public contracting requirements.

 

Minimum Contractor Qualifications

Interested businesses must:

  • Be licensed and authorized to perform work in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Maintain general liability, automobile liability, and workers compensation coverage meeting Pennsylvania requirements.
  • Demonstrate capacity to complete the project within the required timeline

 

Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based upon:

  • Relevant experience and qualifications.
  • Experience with security and access-control projects.
  • Ability to meet project schedule.
  • Overall cost and value to the owner.

 

Site Visit

A mandatory site visit will be conducted for prospective contractors. Details regarding date and time will be worked out with prospective vendors.
